- Founded in February 12, 1909
- Enlisted help from Martin Luther King Jr. to help in the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
- In 60's help lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott with hundreds of members and "free riders."

Southern Christian Leadership Conference:
- Founded on January 10, 1957, were in Birmingham Alabama to help with segregation.
- SCLC was a non violent group that was against acts of evil.
- The goal of the SCLC was to build up the momentum needed for the Civil Rights Movement

League of United Latin Americans:
- Founded in 1929.
- Created to fight for the civil rights of Latin Americans.
- The Hernandez case that had been brought to the supreme court had helped.

United Farm Workers Organizing Committee:
- Founded in 1959.
- Was created to help protect Hispanic farmers right's.(Mostly those who worked in fields).
- The UFWOC was lead by Caesar Chavez.

La Raza Unidad:
- Formed in the 1970's
- First Chicana political group.
- It campaigned for better houses, work, and educational opportunities for Mexican Americans.

- Founded in 1968.
- Helped fight for the rights of Native Americans in the sense of voting, educational, and work opportunities.

- Founded in 1966
- Betty Friedan founded the NOW organization.
- She also wrote a widely known feminist novel called, "Feminine Mystique."
- She called it an "uncomfortable concentration camp."

- Found in 1960
- Made up of college students.
- Played a big part in sit in's.
- Fought for freedom and desegregation.
- Was apart of the March on Washington D.C.

- Founded in 1966
- Founded by Malcolm X and was created in California.
- Believed in violent protest.
- Believed in armed self defense against police brutality.
- Wanted equal jobbing and housing for African Americans.
